Potential – Part 3

Is your life all it really can be?

As we have seen, potential is a possibility. A child may have great potential, but whether they actually turn out like we can see they very easily could, depends on how they choose to roll out their life. In other words, we have seen that whether a potential is realised or not, depends on choices.

Could it be that all the things we don’t like about the way we feel or the relationships and experiences we have, might be connected to our choice to live our potential, or not…?

Ouch! Is that too much to ask?

If we are really willing to ask why so many of us are tired, or burnt out, or not really full of joy, consistently so, each and every day, then perhaps that question is actually something we really should be asking.

So, when we ask ourselves, “Is my life all it really could be?”, we might decide that the answer is in looking at the way we are choosing to live. In other words, contrary to what we allow ourselves to believe or accept, the answer to that question may not lay in the world around us – other people and circumstances (although they certainly play a part).

By and large, the answer to that question may actually centre on whether we are choosing to live to our potential, in all of life.

Life is indeed what we make of it. The way we feel in it, is largely determined by how we choose to approach it.

In our concluding part to this series, we look at responsibility and how this amazing term could make all the difference.
